What is ProvidenceRX ?
ProvidenceRX is an online Telehealth platform which is on a mission to change the way people access healthcare and specifically access treatments for weight loss. Our platform is easy to use, provides affordable medications and treatments, and connects you to a Care Team dedicated to you for your best results. Your Success is Our Success!
How does the ProvidenceRX Intake Process work?
After you complete your online Medical Eligibility Form and provide labs (or upload recent lab results), the healthcare provider assigned to your Care Team will review your medical history and will connect with you if treatment is right for you. If approved, your medical provider will review your lab results and discuss a personalized treatment plan with you within 24 to 48 hours.
What does your Program include?
-
Access to GLP-1 Medications: Our Program provides the latest clinically available treatments to you including access to medicines with the same active ingredients for weight loss as Ozempic®, Wegovy® and Mounjaro®. No fads. Real medicine that brings real results.
-
Consultation and evaluation with a medical provider: Once your online Medical Eligibility Form and Telemedicine Services Agreement have been completed, signed and submitted by you through our website, the medical provider assigned as part of your Care Team will review your submission and assess the appropriate medication and treatment plan for your weight loss goals. You will then be contacted to discuss the prescribed medication and treatment plan designed for you.
-
Ongoing weekly provider care from your Care Team: Your assigned medical provider and a clinician assigned to your Care Team will monitor and track your weekly progress. A member of your Care Team will contact you weekly at a convenient time for your schedule. We can answer any questions you have and provide practical solutions to minimize any side effects that may occur. Your assigned medical provider will make revisions to your treatment plan as needed and provide continuous care to promote your long-term success.
How do I get my prescription and medication?
Once your assigned medical provider approves your treatment plan, your prescription will be forwarded to one of our approved trusted pharmacies for fulfillment. Please allocate 2-3 business days for the creation and processing of your custom-made compounded medication. Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Yes. ProvidenceRX’s membership program operates on a month-to-month basis, allowing you the flexibility to cancel at any time before your next medication prescription is issued.
How often will I be billed for the membership and additional medicine?
Your membership will be billed monthly until you choose to cancel. The cost of the medicine prescribed for you will be billed based on specific and individual intervals set by your assigned medical provider. That interval could be monthly, every 6-weeks or every 90 days, or some other variation.
Do you accept insurance?
Your Care team will work with our third-party insurance assistance providers to help you determine if your insurance covers the brand name medication. ProvidenceRX does not accept insurance for its GLP-1 weight loss program membership, but your insurance may help cover the cost of the brand name medication.
What if my insurance doesn’t cover the cost of medication?
-
If for some reason your insurance will not cover the cost of your brand name medication, you'll have the option to either pay for the medication out of pocket (typically $900–$1,600/month, depending on the medication), if it is available or purchase compounded generic medication with the same active ingredient through ProvidenceRX (which is normally more than a 50% discount off the cost of brand name medicine).
-
If you decide to pay the out-of-pocket cost for the brand name medicine, you will still be required to pay for the ProvidenceRX monthly membership fee for initial diagnostic review, prescription and ongoing provider support.
Do I need a prescription?
Our Program includes access to medicines with the same active ingredients for weight loss as Ozempic®, Wegovy® and Mounjaro®. These medications require a doctor’s prescription. The medical provider assigned to your Care Team will write you a prescription, if appropriate to your situation, and provide any refills, lab orders or more, all without leaving your home.
Do I need lab work done before I can get a prescription for medications?
Yes, as a ProvidenceRX member, the medical provider assigned to your Care Team will need current labs (labs done within the last year) to evaluate in connection with a diagnosis and to write you a prescription for medication. If you have recent lab work done, you can upload those labs for evaluation by your medical provider. If you do not have current labs available, your medical provider will order lab work for you at one of our approved trusted nearby labs. Your insurance will likely cover the cost of this lab work, or you will be able to get lab work done at a substantially discounted rate for being a ProvidenceRX member.
What if I need a higher dose before my next scheduled delivery?
ProvidenceRX clinicians on your Care Team will reach out to you weekly to track and monitor your progress, answer any questions, and advise on medication management. At any time your medical provider deems it necessary for you to increase your dose, they will send a new prescription to one of our pharmacies for fulfillment. The process will be seamless for you.
What if I need to cancel my purchase or cancel my program membership?
ProvidenceRX’s membership program operates on a month-to-month basis, allowing you the flexibility to cancel at any time before your next medication prescription is issued. Please see our Terms & Conditions.
Safety Information
Please see “Important Safety Information” linked here.
How often will I receive a shipment?
The medicine prescribed for you will be delivered based on specific and individual intervals set by your assigned medical provider. That interval could be monthly, or every 6-weeks or every 90 days, or some other variation.
How much weight am I expected to lose?
Everyone's body is unique, but on average, ProvidenceRX members lose 5% of their body weight within 3 months, and 10% of their body weight within 6 months on most of the medical weight loss treatments offered. Results may vary based on starting weight and individual adherence to healthy diet and exercise programs.
How soon will I receive my prescribed medication?
Once your assigned medical provider approves your treatment plan, your prescription will be forwarded to one of our pharmacies for fulfillment. Please allocate 2-3 business days for the creation and processing of your custom-made compounded medication. Once it's ready, all medications are shipped via overnight or ground delivery from Monday through Thursday.
How do I inject the medication?
Medications like Ozempic®, Wegovy® and Mounjaro® are injected subcutaneously either in the stomach (abdomen) or thigh with a very small needle that you can easily self- administer. The needle is as small as the needles that diabetics use for insulin injections. We will work with you to make sure you feel confident administering these medications to yourself prior to starting treatment. Sometimes a clinician or other healthcare staff can be on a video call with you for that first shot and walk you through that process so there is no anxiety. Remember Your Success is Our Success!
What is the most common side effect of taking this medication?
ProvidenceRX clinicians on your Care Team can prescribe a variety of different weight management medications tailored to your unique biology, behaviors, and preferences. Your clinician will explain the known side effects that you could encounter with your specific medications. If you experience side effects that concern you, you can easily report them to your Care Team during your weekly consultations.
What did I hear about a recent study stating heart health benefits of taking GLP-1s?
In September 2023 the University of Colorado Health magazine reported on a study at UC, where researchers have found that injections of semaglutide (the drug in Wegovy® and Ozempic®) sharply cut heart attacks, strokes and cardiac deaths in addition to helping people lose a significant percentage of weight. It was reported in the study that injecting semaglutide alongside standard of care treatment reduced major adverse cardiovascular events by 20%, which involved 17,604 adult participants with cardiovascular disease and overweight or obesity conditions. This medicine is a Game Changer for overweight adults.
How long can I stay on this medication?
The expected duration of GLP-1 treatment for weight loss can vary depending on individual goals, progress, and healthcare provider recommendations.
